If you have a huge skill set and want to make a living selling that knowledge, then a great way to do that could be to create a membership website so that you can share your skills and teach them to others. Sounds easy doesn’t it? Well, it is. That is just so long as you have the right tools to make it happen of course. The right sales letter, the right membership portal, the right payment processor that takes both PayPal and credit card payments… there are a ton of different solutions out there such as Nanacast and Optimizepress, but what is the right solution? How can you make this all happen? Lets cover the basics today.
First things first, you are really going to need to consider the impact of your sales letter. If you want to start selling slots in your membership site, there is going to need to be some effective sales copy on the front of the site so that you can bring more people in as paid members. Now, I could literally go on for hours here about how to write effective sales copy, but at the end of the day, it is all a matter of considering what it is that your product does, how it can help people in the situation that they are in right now, and most importantly, a call to action that tells them what to do next.
Next, you will need to consider your payment processor. Whilst almost anyone can offer PayPal by default, it is extremely important to make sure that you cover all bases here and also offer credit card. This may need to be arranged through your bank, however it is very well worthwhile. To integrate such payment options, this can either be done through PayPal itself, or you can use other software such as e-Junkie, Nanacast Wishlist Member, or any one of the other reputable shopping carts out there.
Let not forget the most important part. I’m talking about how you are going to deliver the content. I will mention that there are a large number of really great pieces of software out there that make really easy work of this process, such as Nanacast, and my personal favourite, OptimizePress, however at the end of the day it comes down to the kind of content that you are delivering, and the best possible mode of delivery or that content. If you have a software application, theme, or plugin for sale, maybe eJunkie would be a better mode of delivery. Have a video series? Optimizepress makes light work of that. A membership area? Nanacast can do most of the work. It all comes down to preference.
As I bring this one to a close, I’m really hoping that you are now all that more clear on those few things that you really need to know if you are creating a sales letter or membership site. Don’t be scared of all of the work, there is a good old saying by Thomas Edison that goes something along the lines of this. Results is often disguised in work overalls and carries a shovel. Get to it, and you will get results.
